Everything researched and ready, so the only spoons left are the easy ones. Read the top box and stop there if that's all you have today — the rest waits.

The honest, non-obvious answer — and it's fixable.
People are looking — 293 views across two listings. They look and don't act. That's a conversion problem: nothing in the listing told them why a 10-year-old diesel was worth top money, and nothing signalled you'd talk on price.
Both listings sat at ~£17k with nothing explaining why. To a buyer scrolling past it read like an old diesel priced at the top, so they moved on — the rare 41k mileage that actually justifies the price was never the headline. Fix the story and the price stands up.
Used-car sales finished 2025 up 2% and are forecast up ~3% in 2026. April transactions were up 3% year-on-year, and cars sold faster than the year before. Demand for 10–15-year-old cars is up 7.3%.
Diesel is the slowest-selling fuel (~32 days vs petrol 29) and values are softening slightly. Translation: expect a 4–6 week window, not a freeze. Low mileage and top trim pull the other way.
A 65-plate diesel is Euro 6 → ULEZ-compliant nationwide (TfL auto-compliance: any diesel registered after 1 Sept 2015), and there's no Clean Air Zone in Norwich or Norfolk. Prove it free in seconds on TfL's ULEZ checker by reg — screenshot it for the listing and the objection vanishes.

SUVs peak Sept–Dec generally — but in Norfolk the Broads/coast caravan season is live now, and a 2,500kg-towing 7-seater with a towbar fitted is exactly what towers shop for in summer.
Grounded in live comparables and actual sold data — not a hopeful guess.
Low-mileage examples are rare — only about 3 of 21 KX-4s nationally are under 50k miles, and every one currently listed sits at £17,495–£20,995 (a 2017/41k dealer car at £17,495; a 2016/24k private car at £20,995). A private seller lands a notch under dealer money — which puts your clean 41k example around £16k–£17k. The market price climbs ~£3k for every ~25–30k fewer miles.

UK cars average ~7,500 miles/year (DfT). A 10-year-old car would be expected at ~75,000. Yours is at ~41,000 — about half. That's the provable, litigation-safe claim.
For the most money: advertise £16,495. A small, visible move from £16,995, it undercuts every low-mileage car currently listed, and leaves room to negotiate down. (Your private walk-away number lives in our chat and TASKS — deliberately off this public page.)
For a faster, lower-stress sale: £15,495 (or £14,995 to land in every "up to £15k" search filter). Fewer pounds, quicker exit, less time fielding it.
Either way the real lever is the repositioned listing + "open to offers" — not the number. The old price failed because nothing explained it, not because it was too high.
A live June 2026 snapshot. The headline: low-mileage cars like yours barely exist.
Of 21 KX-4s listed nationally, only 3 are under 50k miles. The market is wall-to-wall 60k–120k cars. A genuine 41k example sits in the rarest tier — and that scarcity is your pricing power.
| Year / miles | Price | Seller |
|---|---|---|
| 2016 · 24,400 | £20,995 | Private (Bristol) |
| 2015 · 38,851 | £18,995 | Dealer (Nottingham) |
| 2017 · 41,247 | £17,495 | Dealer (Newtownards) |
| Yours · 41,000 | £16,495 | Private (Norwich) |
| ~67–70k (the next rung) | £14,690–£15,000 | mixed |
| 90k+ (the budget pack) | £6,470–£13,000 | mixed |
At £16,495 you'd be the cheapest sub-50k KX-4 in the country while still sitting a clear rung above the 67k-mile cars. That's a keen, confident price — not a stretch.

Ordered by how little energy each step costs you.
The buyer who said he loved it. You replied on 18 May asking his ballpark; he's gone quiet for a month. A one-line nudge from me costs nothing and might sell it off the driveway. Say the word and I send it.

Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi KX-4 Auto — top spec, genuine 41k miles
We're selling our Kia Sorento KX-4 — the top-of-the-range model — and honestly we've loved it. We're only moving it on because we've upgraded. It's done just 41,000 miles, which is roughly half the mileage you'd expect on a 10-year-old car (UK cars average around 7,500 miles a year). I know genuinely low mileage can make people cautious — so please come and look, bring a mechanic, run a history check. It's all real and I'm happy to prove it. It's the full KX-4 spec: • 7 seats — rear two fold flat for a huge boot • Panoramic glass roof • 360° camera, front + rear sensors, self-park • Heated AND ventilated front seats, heated rear seats • Electric memory driver's seat, electric tailgate • Privacy glass, rear sun blinds, sat nav, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto • Towbar already fitted — it'll tow up to 2,500kg (great with a caravan) Recently done: • 4 brand new Continental tyres (December) • Brake & suspension work (~£400–500) • Fresh 12-month MOT It's a Euro 6 diesel, so it's ULEZ-compliant anywhere in the country (I've checked it on TfL's free checker — happy to show you the screenshot), and there's no Clean Air Zone charge in Norwich or Norfolk. The 2.2 diesel auto is strong and smooth, really comfortable on a long run, and returns around 49mpg. Service-wise: it's been serviced regularly (2022 and 2024). We did very few miles in 2023 so it didn't need one that year — happy to talk it all through honestly. Selling privately as we've upgraded. Bank transfer on collection, no part-exchange. Viewings very welcome in Norwich. Open to sensible offers — just ask.
Our lovely Kia Sorento KX-4 is up for sale — top-spec 7-seater, and we're only selling because we've upgraded. The big one: it's only done 41,000 miles. That's about half what a car this age usually has. Totally genuine — come and check it, bring someone who knows cars, run a history check, I don't mind at all. It's got pretty much everything: 7 seats, panoramic roof, 360 camera, self-park, heated + cooled front seats, heated rears, electric tailgate, sat nav, CarPlay. Towbar's already fitted too, so it's ready for a caravan (tows up to 2,500kg). Recently had 4 new Continental tyres, brakes and suspension done, and a fresh 12-month MOT. It's a Euro 6 diesel so no ULEZ charge anywhere (checked it on TfL's free checker), and there's no Clean Air Zone here in Norfolk anyway. Drives beautifully, around 49mpg. Serviced 2022 and 2024 (barely driven in 2023 so it didn't need one). Bank transfer on collection, viewings welcome in Norwich. Open to sensible offers — just message me.
Accuracy flags I've handled: no "full service history" (yours is partial — said honestly); no "warranty remaining" (Kia's 7-yr from-new expired in 2023); no "lowest in UK" — only the provable "about half typical mileage."
My "I'll handle the messages" promise, made real. Tap copy — you never write the dread ones from scratch.
Hi Matt — hope you're well. Just circling back on the Sorento. It's still here, and I remembered you were keen on it, so I wanted to give you first shout before I refresh the advert. If it's still of interest, I'm happy to talk numbers — what sort of figure were you thinking? No pressure either way. Cheers, Gareth
Hi — yes, still available and ready to view here in Norwich. It's a genuine 41k-mile, top-spec KX-4. Happy to answer anything or sort out a viewing whenever suits you. Whereabouts are you?
Thanks for the interest. It's up at £16,495 — I've priced it fairly for a genuinely low-mileage, full-spec example (most KX-4s out there have double the miles) — but I'm open to a sensible offer. What did you have in mind?
Appreciate the offer, but that's a fair bit under where I can go for a 41k-mile car in this condition — it's closer to trade money than a private sale. If you'd like to come and see it I think it'll make sense in person, and I've a little room to move for the right buyer.
Great — I'm in Norwich and pretty flexible on timing. When works for you? Bring someone who knows cars if you like, and feel free to run a history check beforehand — it's all genuine and I'm happy for you to check.
Thanks, but I only sell in person, with payment confirmed in my account before the car goes — no couriers and no deposits up front. You're very welcome to come and view it.
Subject: Low-mileage 2016 Kia Sorento KX-4 — 41k miles, available now Hi, I've a 2016 Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi KX-4 auto — top spec, genuine 41,000 miles, full feature set (panoramic roof, 360 camera, heated + ventilated seats, towbar fitted). Recent new tyres, brake & suspension work, and a fresh 12-month MOT. I'm in Norwich and after a clean, quick sale. I have a Motorway offer in hand — could you beat it for collection this week? Happy to send photos and the full history. Thanks, Gareth
For sale — a proper tow car. 2016 Kia Sorento KX-4, 2.2 diesel auto, 7 seats, only 41k miles, towbar already fitted (tows up to 2,500kg). Top spec — panoramic roof, 360 camera, heated + cooled seats, the lot. Recently had 4 new tyres, brakes & suspension done, fresh 12-month MOT. Drives beautifully, around 49mpg. £16,495, open to sensible offers. Norwich. Genuine reason for sale (we've upgraded) — happy to answer anything and viewings welcome.
Decide your walk-away number before you list. Then no offer can rattle you — you already know the answer.
List: £16,495. Your target and walk-away floor are set privately (they live in our chat and TASKS, not on this public page — so a buyer can never see them). The point: decide both before you list, then no offer can rattle you.
£13k or below → "That's closer to trade money — I'd take a Motorway offer for that. I'm happy nearer £16k for a private sale." Then let it go; the right buyer comes.
A solid offer after a viewing → check it against your private floor. If it clears it and you want it gone, accept; if not, hold for closer to the asking price.
Anything, when unsure → "Let me think on it and I'll come back to you this evening." That's a complete answer. You never have to decide on the spot.
Money cleared in your account before the keys leave your hand. Not "sent", not "pending", not a cheque — cleared. This is the whole of staying safe.
20+ photos in even daylight reads as genuine. Hand this to whoever holds the phone.
Worth ~£100 on a pro valet first — a car that looks immaculate holds its asking price.
Your instinct was right: too-polished reads as a scam. Trust comes from specific honesty, not perfect prose.
Meet in person. Confirm the bank transfer has actually cleared in your account before you hand over keys. Keep all chat on the platform. Never release the car against a "pending" payment or a cheque.
Any one of these is progress. You don't have to do all three, or any today.
Built for you while you slept. The dread part is done — what's left is small and yours to pace.
